The Emma Kotka Band

Emma Kotka - vocals

The youngest member of the band by quite a long way. Emma is known as “the one-take wonder” after recording every song on our latest demo in one take. Just a natural singer.

Special skill: Tambourine
Equipment: Shure SM58

Phil Trory - Bass

Looks after the web site, has a bag of leads that can connect anything to anything else and likes to feel the floor vibrate.

Special skill: Jack Daniels
Equipment: Fender and Gibson basses. Ashdown amplification
.

John Tuck - Guitar

John is equally at home playing Hendrix or Sheryl Crow. Also plays a mean acoustic set and has a harmonica hidden somewhere in his gig bag.

Special skill: Losing leads
Equipment: PRS and Fender, guitars, Marshall amplification.

Alan Loader - Drums

Alan likes to hide behind a battery of drums, cymbals, cowbells, and anything else he can hit, so he is rarely visible in gig photos. But, somehow we always know he’s there.

Special skill: Chimes
Equipment: Pearl drums, Zildjian cymbals

Still Crazy got together in 1999, with Ian McLean on keyboard, Phil on bass, plus Kevin Hand on vocals, Jeff Lambden on lead guitar and James Trory on drums. Alan joined us a little later, when James went off the US, and John came in when Jeff moved to Wales. Emma joined us in 2005, after standing in for Kevin at a 21st birthday party and we had two singers for about eighteen months, until Kevin decided to hang up his microphone at the end of 2006.  When Ian called it a day in March 2007, the remaining members formed The Emma Kotka Band.
